History
St. Scholastica School opened its doors in 1962 with the Benedictine Sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery, Lisle, serving as the teachers. In its early years, the school operated out of two rented homes on the corner of Janes and Crabtree, offering just three grades. In 1964, as enrollment increased, the school building was built to accommodate for its exciting growth.
Today, in our expansive campus, which features a new STEAM lab, Crusader students experience engaging and nurturing classrooms as they pursue a rigorous STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) and Language Arts curriculum. Through independent work, small group collaboration, and whole class instruction, students explore concepts thematically and through project-based learning to promote grade-level understanding and problem-solving skills.
