Parents play a vital role as partners in their child’s education at St. Scholastica Catholic School. One of the many ways families contribute to our vibrant community is through involvement in our Crusader Parent Organization (CPO). The CPO meets monthly to support school initiatives, enhance the student experience, and help fund enrichment opportunities that benefit all Crusaders. New members are always welcome as the organization continues to grow alongside the needs of our school community. To find out more, visit our Crusader Parent Organization page.

In addition to participation opportunities through CPO, all STS families are required to complete 15 volunteer hours each school year. Parent volunteers are an essential part of what makes our school community thrive. Whether assisting with the annual Dinner Dance Auction, serving lunch, supporting special events, chaperoning activities, or sharing unique talents and expertise, volunteers directly impact the success of our students and school.

Volunteering at STS is more than fulfilling a requirement—it is an opportunity to model the values of service, stewardship, and faith for our children. As a Catholic school committed to following the example of Jesus Christ, we believe that service strengthens both our community and our relationship with God. Through their time, talents, and dedication, parents help create a welcoming environment where students flourish academically, spiritually, and socially.

Together, our families play an indispensable role in carrying forward the mission of St. Scholastica Catholic School and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations of Crusaders.

Protecting God’s Children & VIRTUS

All volunteers working with children in any capacity within the Diocese of Joliet MUST complete the Protecting God’s Children (PGC) workshop through VIRTUS online. As stated in our Family Handbook, all STS parents/guardians must complete this very important safety program. If you have completed the program at another parish, you must switch your parish on your VIRTUS account, and present your certificate of completion along with the related acknowledgment form to our office.

If you have already completed PGC, please follow the link provided to check your VIRTUS account. Any and all missing items will be labeled in red. Thank you for participating in this important step, that helps continue to provide the safest environment for your children.
