Mrs. Joan Hamer
Middle School Math; Student Resource
God is good all the time. All the time, God is good!
Mrs. Joan [Last Name] has been a devoted Catholic school educator for her entire career, joyfully serving students, families, and colleagues for more than 25 years. Throughout her journey, she has been blessed to work alongside wonderful educators, teach amazing children, and partner with supportive parents. She credits each of her experiences at different schools as opportunities where God has guided her and helped her grow.
Joan grew up in Wheaton and attended St. Michael’s School, Wheaton North High School, and the University of Illinois. She and her husband, Scott, have been married for 44 years and are the proud parents of three adult children. They are also blessed with four grandchildren, whom Joan describes as “very smart and clever”—and like all proud grandparents, she thinks they are practically perfect! She is especially grateful that they live nearby, allowing her to see them often.
Outside of the classroom, Joan enjoys reading, cooking, taking walks, and watching sports. A lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, she has many fond baseball memories, including being at the historic 2016 pennant-clinching game.
Joan is thrilled to be part of the St. Scholastica Catholic School community and looks forward to another year of faith, learning, and joyful moments with her students.
