Mrs. Barbara Stance
Librarian and Technology
Phone: 630-985-2515
Mrs. Barbara Stance has been a member of St. Scholastica Parish since 1980 and has dedicated over 37 years to the Crusader school community. She began her service when the library was housed in a small trailer at the front of the building and has since been at the heart of its growth and transformation.
Over the decades, Mrs. Stance has played a key role in developing the school’s technology program. She was present when computers were first introduced to St. Scholastica in the late 1980s and has guided students and staff through every stage of change since then. This past summer, she was the foundation of design and preparation of the school’s newly renovated Digital Disciples technology lab, creating an innovative space where students can grow as learners and responsible digital citizens.
In addition to her leadership in technology, Mrs. Stance serves as school librarian, where she helps students discover a love of reading and supports them in finding books that inspire and challenge them. She coordinates the annual Book Fair and is a proud recipient of the St. Scholastica Blue Apple Award, nominated by her peers for her dedication and excellence.
Mrs. Stance especially enjoys helping students discover new skills, fostering a love of reading, and seeing the joy on their faces when they share their learning with her. As our Alumni come back home, with their own children, be sure to stop by the tech lab! Mrs. Stance loves to watch generations of families return to the school community she has faithfully served for so many years.
