Melissa Johnson is beginning her sixth year at St. Scholastica and brings with her nearly three decades of experience in education. Over the course of her 29-year career, she has taught students in grades 2 through 8, with a particular dedication to the unique challenges and rewards of middle school education. After receiving her Bachelor's in Education from Saint Ambrose University, Mrs. Johnson earned her Master’s Degree in Administration from Governors' State University and her Type 75 certificate. She is committed to fostering a culture of lifelong learning. She strives to create a classroom environment that challenges students academically, encourages curiosity, and supports their growth into thoughtful, resilient individuals. Residing in Lemont with her husband and their son, Brandon, Mrs. Johnson values family and community. Outside of her professional role, she enjoys traveling, discovering new dining experiences, and cheering on her son in his athletic pursuits. She is also an avid reader and has an appreciation for classic films, particularly those from the 1980s. With her wealth of experience, deep faith, and unwavering dedication to her students, Mrs. Johnson looks forward to continuing her work at St. Scholastica, partnering with families and colleagues to ensure a year filled with meaningful learning, growth, and success for all students.

Mr. Ken Scheel
Mr. Ken Scheel is a retired Physical Education teacher and proud Army veteran whose dedication and service extend far beyond the classroom. Since his wife, Mrs. Scheel, began teaching at St. Scholastica School, Mr. Scheel has been a consistent and reliable presence in the STS halls, generously volunteering his time and talents to support student learning and growth.

In addition to his classroom support, Mr. Scheel plays a vital role in enriching our school environment. He is a Staff Sponsor of both the Beautification Club and the Gardening Club, where his leadership and hard work help our students maintain and improve the natural beauty of our campus.

Beyond his volunteer work, Mr. Scheel serves as a regular substitute teacher, stepping in wherever needed with professionalism, patience, and care. His wealth of experience as an educator, combined with his steady presence and dedication to our mission, make him a trusted and valued member of our school community.

Mr. Scheel’s service to our students and staff embodies the spirit of generosity and dedication that defines St. Scholastica School. We are blessed to count him as an integral part of our team.
