Ms. Maria Kukulski

1st Grade Homeroom
Miss Maria Kukulski is passionate about teaching young learners and believes every child is capable and deserving of a quality education. In the classroom, she strives to create a happy, loving & supportive environment where students feel comfortable to be themselves, be brave & take risks, and grow in confidence. She likes to incorporate music, singing & ASL, and believes children should learn respect and love & acceptance of everyone for who God made them to be. Since 2016, Miss Kukulski has served in a variety of roles in public schools, including instructional assistant, substitute teacher, reading & math interventionist, & classroom teacher across grade levels in both general and special education classrooms. This has given her a well-rounded perspective on student learning and growth & has strengthened her ability to adapt instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of every student. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University, with a Special Education Letter of Approval and ESL endorsement, graduating cum laude. Outside of school, Miss Kukulski enjoys listening to music, singing - especially with her identical twin sister, baking & cooking. She also treasures spending time with her family, including her older sister wither special needs and new brother-in-law. Most important to her is living out a faith and family centered life, which her father & grandmother instilled in her from a young age. Miss Kukulski is thrilled to transition to Catholic School education & begin this new chapter of faith integrated teaching & learning with her students!
