Mrs. Kellean Schriedel

6th Grade Homeroom; Middle School Advanced Math
Mrs. Kellean Schriedel has been a teacher in the Joliet Diocese since 2016. She began her teaching career at St. Dominic School in Bolingbrook, where she taught junior high science and math. Following the school's closure, she continued her teaching journey at St. Scholastica, focusing on middle school advanced math and serving as the 6th grade homeroom teacher. Mrs. Schriedel earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from the University of Chicago. She used her degree to conduct cancer research at both the University of Chicago and Loyola University Chicago. She then pursued a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University. Her qualifications include middle school endorsements in math, language arts, general science, biological science, physical science, and social science, as well as a Learning Behavior Specialist endorsement (LBS I). Outside of school, Mrs. Schriedel likes reading, crocheting, playing the piano, and riding her bike. She enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and two puppies. Mrs. Schriedel also loves traveling around the world with her family, especially to Disney World, her happy place.

Mr. Ken Scheel
Mr. Ken Scheel is a retired Physical Education teacher and proud Army veteran whose dedication and service extend far beyond the classroom. Since his wife, Mrs. Scheel, began teaching at St. Scholastica School, Mr. Scheel has been a consistent and reliable presence in the STS halls, generously volunteering his time and talents to support student learning and growth.

In addition to his classroom support, Mr. Scheel plays a vital role in enriching our school environment. He is a Staff Sponsor of both the Beautification Club and the Gardening Club, where his leadership and hard work help our students maintain and improve the natural beauty of our campus.

Beyond his volunteer work, Mr. Scheel serves as a regular substitute teacher, stepping in wherever needed with professionalism, patience, and care. His wealth of experience as an educator, combined with his steady presence and dedication to our mission, make him a trusted and valued member of our school community.

Mr. Scheel’s service to our students and staff embodies the spirit of generosity and dedication that defines St. Scholastica School. We are blessed to count him as an integral part of our team.
